Pre-Flight Operations

Ordnance: Captain McGee orders all pilots to only take 8 bombs aboard each airframe.

Take-Off Weather: Captain McGee rolls a 6, cross references it with the scenario table, and is relieved to find that the airfield has clear weater.

Weather Over Target: Captain McGee rolls an 8, cross references it with the scenario table, and is relieved to find that the weather over the target is clear.

Flight Planning: Captain McGee examines the three potential avenues of approach and uses flight plan A as it will allow the squadron to target a critical factory as well as a critical airstrip, and an additional regular airstrip.

Take-Off

The weather value target number (TN) of 5 must be met by a combination of the pilot’s skill and 2d6.

In B1, Captain McGee rolls a 6 (combined roll) +3 (pilot skills) =9 and takes off successfully.

In B2, Captain Leonard rolls an 8 +2 = 10 and takes off successfully.

In B3, Captain Duska rolls a 3+2 = 5, and fails his takeoff.
